SPRINGFIELD, MO. I wish you could read the letters we receive
almost daily from inmates who have been touched by the Pentecostal
Evangel. Some openly confess sin and request prayer; others hunger
for scriptural answers. And many share how they invited Jesus Christ
into their hearts by repeating the ABCs of salvation found in this
magazine.
This magazine matters to them.
Im convinced that Americas prisons are one of the greatest
evangelism opportunities in our nation. Hundreds of thousands of inmates
are one touch away from finding Jesus Christ. We have the opportunity
and responsibility to nurture revival in Americas
prisons.
Placing this magazine in the hands of more inmates must be a priority,
because Jesus hasnt given up on Americas prison population.
He longs to extend a hand to men and women who have lost their way.
He longs to restore their hope and give them a new purpose in life.
Unfortunately, many false religions are offering their own brand
of hope. Buddhism, Hinduism, Mormonism, Islam and more are vying for
the allegiance of inmates through printed propaganda. And because
inmates have significant time for reading, they are being indoctrinated
en masse by materials contrary to the Word of God.
One prisoner wrote: "I read one of your magazines that someone had
at chapel. It made me sit down and cry. Ive never seen so much
of Gods love shared like this before. Im a really new
Christian and like reading everything I can get my hands on. Do you
think you might be able to send me a few back issues that I could
read? I dont have any money or I would pay you for them. My
family disowned me when I became a Christian and left the Mormon church."
Inmates like this and chaplains are urgently requesting additional
copies of the Pentecostal Evangel. But your help is needed
to expand our distribution to prisons.
For $1 a week, you can declare to the enemy that you have not given
up on the souls of incarcerated men, women and teen-agers. For only
$1 each week, you can send an Evangel to four prisoners. That
is a small price to pay for the lives that will be changed. (It is
common for one magazine to be read by a dozen inmates.)
Please pray about what you can give to send this magazine into prison
cells across the nation. Information on
how you can send the Pentecostal Evangel to a man or woman
in prison can be found here.
Your financial gift may hold the keys to an inmates spiritual
freedom and help transform our prisons into centers for revival. Together,
lets seize the opportunity to touch men and women for Jesus.
